L. Dean Rees Scholarship
Edward Morris, 2007 Scholarship Recipient
Junior Achievement of Utah, in partnership with Savage Industries, has named Edward Morris as the 2007 L. Dean Rees Scholarship recipient.
Edward, or Eddie as he likes to be called, recently graduated from Sky View High School in Logan, Utah. Eddie will be attending Utah State University this fall, where he plans to study Business Administration, as well as Law and Constitutional Studies. Eddie aspires to obtain both a Master’s of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor, and practice as a corporate attorney.
About L. Dean Rees
L. Dean Rees was JA of Utah’s most experienced classroom volunteer, teaching JA in-class programs at Taylorsville High School in Salt Lake City every semester for over 12 years. Mr. Rees received both the Bronze and Silver National Leadership Awards from Junior Achievement Worldwide in recognition of his commitment to JA. He was also a favorite speaker at JA of Utah’s Annual Governor’s Breakfasts, board meetings, and many other JA functions. Mr. Rees passed away unexpectedly in his sleep in March of 2004.
In honor of this great businessman and community volunteer, JA of Utah in partnership with Savage Industries, where Mr. Rees was a long-time employee, began awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a high school student who demonstrates community volunteerism at its finest.
