Introduction
OUR PURPOSE
Junior Achievement (JA) of Utah's mission is to educate and inspire young people to gain a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise system.
This year, more than 60,000 Utah students in 30,000 classrooms will participate in JA programs where they will receive a wealth of information, materials, and hands-on training that teaches them how to effectively manage their finances, apply free-market thinking in the workplace, and contribute to society.
VOLUNTEERS & SPONSORS
At the heart of JA's success are thousands of mentoring volunteers and dedicated sponsors generously investing in the lives of Utah's children. As teachers, role models, recruiters, and contributors they work with JA to prepare students for life after graduation.
HISTORY
Founded in 1919, Junior Achievement Worldwide is the world's largest business/education partnership and the leading school-to-career program in K-12 classrooms.
In 1956, JA of Utah was established as an after-school program. Then, in 1980, began offering in-school programs. After years of substantial growth, JA of Utah opened the doors to Junior Achievement City in 2007. Junior Achievement City is a small-scale municipality that gives students a chance to try the real world on for size.
