R.D. "Don" Cash

For more than two decades, R.D. "Don" Cash guided Questar Corp. under the philosophy that companies that operate with a strong code of ethics are and will be the most successful. Cash's philosophy proved to be correct because under his direction, Questar Corp. was transformed from a small utility company into an $8 billion regional energy corporation.
Not only did Cash quadruple Questar's number of customers and increase non-regulated oil and gas reserves more than 300 percent, Cash left a legacy of service at Questar. He created the Questar Volunterr Team, through which employees donate thousands of hours of volunteer service each year. Cash also established company foundations that support education and the arts within the communities that Questar serves. Cash was also a leader in the efforts to attract the Winter Olympics Games to Salt Lake City, and he served as a community advocate to combat child abuse and other social challenges.
Although he now lives in Texas where he born and educated, Cash keeps a home and remains active in the Salt Lake City community. He has served on numerous boards ranging from Zions Bancorporation to the Utah Symphony. Cash graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and he and hiw wife, Kay, who is also an alum of Texas Tech, are ardent supporters of their alma mater.
While Cash was appointed as president of Questar at the young age of 39, his keen management skills, unwavering ethics, and vision for the future of the company, strengthened Questar's position as one of the few major corporations headquartered in Utah, as well as created a lasting committment to ethical conduct and community service.
