How You Can Help

Volunteers

Volunteers are the heart of Junior Achievement's learning-by-doing approach. On the day of a school visit, Junior Achievement City is a very busy community with over 100 students bustling about in over 15 businesses. While students are well prepared for their day in the City through a comprehensive in-class curriculum, volunteer support in the businesses is still critical to a smooth day.

Each day Junior Achievement City welcomes 20-25 enthusiastic parent or business volunteers to help run this amazing experience. Volunteers attend a one-hour training session at the facility prior to the school visit. They get a tour of the City and are shown how the whole process works. Volunteers are trained to guide students through the various activities and decisions they will face when they arrive at JA City. We welcome PTA parent volunteers to attend the day of their own child's visit, and strongly encourage business community participation.
