Introduction
“Lessons that do not come through the education system are lessons that must be taught by one generation to another and the penalty for failure is social, political and economic collapse. There is no other place in the world to flee to if freedom is lost here. Whether we like to think of it in those terms or not, that is in fact what the stakes are if any of us and succeeding generations fail to teach the principles of the free-enterprise system to those who follow. Children are the messengers we send into a time we’ll never see. That’s the importance of Junior Achievement.”
--Larry H. Miller
In a world more interconnected than ever before, and at a time when knowledge increasingly determines one's ability to succeed, the need is greater than ever for Junior Achievement of Utah’s programs, sponsors, and volunteers to help students dream of and achieve success in life.
In all we do, from raising funds to recruiting volunteers to implementing programs, we focus on our goal of reaching Utah’s youth and teaching them financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workplace readiness.
This past school year, JA of Utah reached more than 55,000 Utah students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Working together with outstanding educators and volunteers, we gave students a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise system by providing relevant educational and experience-based programs designed to inspire them to realize their future real-world responsibilities and potential.
