ABOUT US

Junior Achievement USA, one of the six regions that comprise the JA Worldwide Family, is the world's largest business/education partnership and the number one school-to-career program in school districts across the country. Junior Achievement (JA) of Utah was established in 1956 to educate Utah's students in work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

JA programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it; how to create jobs which make their communities more robust; and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. JA focuses on three areas:

  • In-class programs for kindergarten through grade 12
  • An experiential learning site, known as JA City, offered to 5th and 8th grade students
  • JA City Career Center, opening to the public Fall 2011 for career exploration for all ages

SCHOOL'S AND SPONSORS

“Lessons that do not come through the education system are lessons that must be taught by one generation to another and the penalty for failure is social, political and economic collapse. There is no other place in the world to flee to if freedom is lost here. Whether we like to think of it in those terms or not, that is in fact what the stakes are if any of us and succeeding generations fail to teach the principles of the free-enterprise system to those who follow. Children are the messengers we send into a time we’ll never see. That’s the importance of Junior Achievement.”
